Design -
With physical dimensions of 142.4 x 73 x 8.2-9.35 mm, Yuphoria is smaller than its big brother
Micromax Yu Yureka . It weighs 143 grams. It will be available in two color variants of Buffed Steel and Champagne Gold. The smartphone features an all metal build. Back cover is made of thin cover of plastic which is quite flimsy. Camera is centered which gives Yuphoria a unique look. The microUSB port and headphone jack are centered at bottom and top respectively. Volume buttons are placed on either side of the power button which makes it standout from the crowd.
Display -
The phone has 5 inch 720p IPS display with a resolution of 720 x 1280. Display looks quite pleasant and has good outdoor visibility. The display reproduces vibrant colors. The viewing angles are quite good. The phone has on screen navigation buttons which again is a unique feature. The screen has a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
Hardware -
The device is powered by Snapdragon 410 quadcore perocessor at a clock speed of 1.2 GHz. It can be considered a lowered down version of Yureka which has Snapdragon 615 octa core processor. The internal memory of the phone is 16 GB which can be expanded upto 32 GB via microSD card. The phone has 2 GB onboard RAM. Graphics are handled by Adreno 306 GPU.
Camera -
The 13 MP camera on Yureka has been replaced by a 8 MP rear camera. It features auto focus and LED flash. The camera is capable of 1080p HD video recording. The phone also has a 5 MP front camera for selfies and videochatting. The rear camera supports slow motion video shooting.
Software -
The phone – like its predecessor runs on Cyanogen OS 12 based on Android 5.0.2 Lollipop. Software issues observed in Yureka have been taken care of and sorted out. Though the Android layout has been maintained, Yu has added some additional Cyanogen features.
Other features -
The phone has dual SIM compatibility. Both the SIMs support 4G. Other connectivity features include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and FM radio. The phone has sensors such as gyroscope, proximity sensor, compass and ambient light sensor.
Battery capacity is 2320 mAh. It has support for QuickCharge 1.0 which lets you charge your phone from 0 to 65% in 45 minutes.
Price and availability -
The device was launched on May, 12. The registrations have started on Amazon and the sale will go live on May, 28. The device is targeted at the nascent 4G market. In a view to tackle the likes of
