  • I think you meant a laptop or a 'netbook'. In my opinion both should suffice your basic needs. If you travel a lot and need to work on the go, I suggest a netbook since its very handy to carry. A laptop on the other hand can be bulky and difficult to carry. Please note, a netbook will also have less screen size when compared to a normal laptop.

Your budget is pretty high for a netbook. Looking at your requirements, I suggest buying an Acer or Asus netbook in the range of Rs. 15000-20000. You can order them from Flipkart or Amazon India. I'm attaching a link to one of the netbooks I found worth buying below.

  • Don't bother about the terms like notebook, net book and ultra book. It is good that you are clear about the budget and specification. For your price, laptop with Intel PDC (Pentium Dual Core) and APU dual core processor will be available. I used laptop running Intel PDC and I was happy with the performance. This processor is enough to run the application you mentioned. It also has LAN port and Wi-Fi feature inbuilt. If you would like to improve the performance even more then you should buy RAM. For everyday use 512 MB is enough, however you will get 2GB RAM inbuilt; whatever laptop you buy. I would like to warn you not to buy any other processor other than Intel PDC. I have experienced using Intel Celeron processor. I was not satisfied with the performance. Brands like Asus, Lenovo and Acer are providing good offers. These laptops are usually in the range Rs.22000 to Rs.23000. To make long story short, my recommendation is Intel PDC processor.

  • You can buy a laptop in stated budget with stated configuration. However, it is up to you to decide which brand name you want.

  • I think you should go for notebooks of Lenovo company as it provides you multi-features like calling, gaming and computing like normal laptop does. You can easily choose appropriate model from website like Flipkart, Snapdeal etc.

  • Since you have minimum requirements, you can adjust with a Notebook. But if you are planning to extend your limitations i.e. going to learn new like Photoshop, programming etc, its better to go for a laptop.

For your budget of Rs.25,000 you can get a better notebook, if you choose to buy a laptop, you'll get a lower configuration. So, choose a notebook with a larger screen size and I recommend ASUS because it's one of the best manufacturers of powerful mother boards.
