How to solve Ubuntu 13.04 bootable USB drive issue

I want to install Ubuntu 13.04 on my desktop alongside windows 8.1. I have installed windows 8.1 on C drive on my machine using USB bootable drive.
Now I want to install Ubuntu on my another drive. So I have created an Ubuntu 13.04 USB bootable drive. But this USB drive is not able to boot. Even it is not showing any errors. I have chosen USB-ZIP as a boot option from BIOS setup.
Can anybody help to solve this issue?

  • You are saying that your USB device is not booting. Then try formatting and install bootable Ubuntu OS in your pen drive. If USB is not booting either it must be problem with pen drive or you have not burn the Ubuntu CD correctly. While burning your Ubuntu CD in pen drive don't forget to check 'Make this as bootable device'. This option will be available at the time when you are about to burn the CD in USB device. If it doesn't work then burn Ubuntu in CD. Installing OS from CD is easier than installing from USB drive. The installation process of Ubuntu is changed. Once the Ubuntu CD or USB get booted, it will directly load the operating system. It is Live OS and there you can find installer in the desktop. Double click on it and provide the password as 'root' to start installation.
