How to update from Fedora 19 to Fedora 20 without my files getting deleted?

I want to upgrade my Fedora 19 to Fedora 20 but I need all my files as they are. Is it possible? Can I upgrade to Fedora 20 without my files getting deleted. If so how to do it? Can it be done directly without using bootable disc? I want to update directly from my installed Fedora 19 instead of downloading and creating a new bootable device.

  • If there is OS upgrading process, it is not deleting your existing data from the system. You can upgrade your Fedora OS without losing old data from PC. But for security purpose you can take the entire data backup of your PC before performing the upgrade process. Also read the popup messages carefully when upgrading OS on your system. The upgrade process itself will tell you whether your old data will be removed from PC or not.
