|The major concern for an AC is power consumption and maintenance cost. Now these companies are taking the uninformed Indian who just depends on a shopkeeper and looks at price to push their non-selling splits here. A split AC is a worse choice, First of all it takes a lot of space keeping an ugly "Coffin" like box in your room, Window Acs on the other hand are usually mounted in a hole in your wall and is mostly flush and does not take up space inside the room, They are also low on maintenance too. If any repair comes they can simply be dragged out of the hole and send for repair, Usually they consume less energy and are safer too, If the orifice is properly made they will not spill water inside your room too, Iam a person using Acs from late 70s, I have found Window models very extremely reliable, Maybe because they have lesser parts than Splits, I have also seen companies like GE and Sanyo consuming very little power too. The main concern with splits are they do have a external unit and internal seperate, The external unit is in most cases totally exposed to sunlight and rain , Not to mention short circuits due to corrosive weather on external units. Your review seem to suggest you see only these "Coffins in your bedroom" type of AC. They are a waste and does not cool well, Try a 1ton window unit and split unit from same brand in same room, If possible review the same tonnage AC split and window for power consumption, cooling and maintenance cost, in the same room, You will be shocked with the results. Do not just copy paste what companies say. Check for yourself before you write please.|
