Panasonic Toughbook C2: Specs and reviews

Panasonic Toughbook C2
Panasonic, the leading brand in computer industry is well known for giving best performing, rugged and reliable devices to computer market, regularly and once again it comes up with another ultimate and powerful techno-gadget –Toughbook C2 hybrid laptop that is claimed to be among one of the most durable devices available in computer market. Being so rugged and reliable laptop, Panasonic named it Toughbook and showing its confidence over device with giving three year limited warranty for it.

The tough looking Windows 8 PC comes with a multi touch capacitive 500 nit HD display of 12.5-inches and anti-glare and anti-reflective treatments plus IPS technology enabling user observing ultimate wide viewing angle from different locations. A 720p HD webcam with built-in microphone comes along with PC and an optional 3MP rear-facing is camera also there to let user snap shooting and making videos.

I am observing Panasonic device since long and personally using Panasonic TV at my home for 10 years and I can say confidently that till date it has not given me even a single chance to complain though its remote has been replaced severally, as my 4 years son is used to rip off its cuddly buttons. So I have strong faith on Panasonic devices and now for the first time by giving an ultimate touch screen ability with Windows 8 technology, Panasonic once again going to get confidence of their customers though they have already produced many awesome and most reliable products like Panasonic Laptop in computer market.

This is the first Panasonic model with touchscreen and runs Microsoft's newest Windows 8 Pro 64-bit operating system along with optional Windows 7 professional too. Empowering with Intel's Core i5-3427U vProTM (3MB cache, up to 2.8GHz) and Turbo Boost Technology, the Panasonic device has magnesium alloy design body with around 3.99 lbs. weight. This seems better than its nearest competitor Toshiba is Satellite U920T hybrid ultrabook which is powered up by Intel's 3rd generation Core processor. The machine is designed to give user a strong battery backup of 11 hours depending on usage conditions. It has bridge battery that allows the main battery swapping automatically without letting device to be powered down.

For giving revolutionary convertible ability to this device, company provided an enhanced triple hinge design to device for supporting display screen that also helps converting tablet to notebook. For capturing user's signature and note taking, the device is equipped with a digitizer electronic pen. There are varieties of both wired and wireless connectors available on Panasonic Laptop such as Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n, Bluetooth, optional 4G LTE or 3G Gobi broadband, NFC (Near Field Communication) with SmartCard reader for authentication and HDMI port for video streaming to external device. There are also 2 backward compatible advanced USB 3.0 ports that are said to be 10 times faster than USB 2.0 ports. Besides these all, multiple sensors like Ambient light, magnetic and gyro sensors, acceleration are also available on device.

Company claimed this laptop to be so rugged for having a magnesium alloy case with spill-resistant keyboard and shock-mounted flex-connect hard drive. The robust machine is engineered to handle up to 12-inches drops from 26 angles and 30-inch drop to six sides and found most suitable for mobile professionals in market. Its other application areas are healthcare, sales, IT department and education for delivering best performance.
