It's an energy efficient light weight portable gadget. Sony has introduced a short throw home theatre projector the VPL-BW120s.

Surprisingly it is capable of projecting high resolution images equivalent to a 100" screen despite being able to project from such a short distance.

The power saving mode and the standby mode on the VPL-BW120S Home Theatre Projector is designed to make it energy efficient and offers a synchronized lamp and filter replacement cycle of 6000 hours.
The VPL-BW120S has a composite and an S video input interface with a variety of input options like RGB, Composite, S-Video, RS-232C control input/ output and audio ports. It has a HDMI input connector and is HDPC compatible. The monaural speakers are built in and the AC voltage requirement of 100V to 240V is something every household has. The projector weighs just 3.7 Kilograms and can be carted around from room to room. It has a width of 313.4 mm, height of 144.9 mm and dimensions of 349.3 mm making it extremely compact.
Sony that has a reputation when it comes to display and resolution in their televisions, have ensured that uniformity in colors are maintained right up to the edges of the screen. The VPL-BW120S uses 3LCD display and reproduces pictures with a brightness of 2600 lumens and WGXA (1280 X 800) native resolution in the high lamp and low lamp mode respectively. It has a 12 bit 3D gamma correction and a contrast ratio of 4000:1 for stunning life like color reproduction. The color systems it supports are: NTSC3.58, SECAM, NTSC4.43, PAL, PAL-M, PAL-N and PAL60
The VPL-BW120S retails in India at about rupees 88000(1700 USD) approximately. It is available across the country in Sony exclusive showrooms as well as Sony authorized distributors and resellers.
