. The Nexus 7 had one of the best pre-launch development scenarios. The tablet had plethora of custom ROM,
custom kernels
and roots but lacked in an overall toolkit with multiple functionality. Such all-in-one toolkits are extremely essential for performing different adjustments on your
Android device
such as installing drivers, creating backup or restore points,
rooting and unlocking the bootloader
.
Using these toolkits also avoids using multiple hacks from different sources and places which might complicate simple processes on your Android device.
Functions of Nexus 7 Toolkit
The
Toolkit for Nexus 7
as released by
XDA Developers
serves multiple functions and carries them out in a very small time including:
Installing appropriate adb/fastboot drivers on your Windows XP/Vista/7 (32 bit and 64 bit) systems on the tablet.
Creating backup or restore for all data, storage and apps on your Android device using a single package.
Installing single or multiple apk(s) to the tablet.
Unlocking or relocking the bootloader.
Rooting automatically any public build of ICS up to 4.1.1 JRO03D.
Creating Flash Stock, TWRP Touch or CWM Touch recovery or booting into them without the need of flashing the kernel.
Pushing or pulling files to/from the tablet from/to PC.
Apart from the above mentioned set of functions
Nexus 7 toolkit
will also allow you reboot your tablet into Recovery, Fastboot or Android mode, download Google Stock image files directly and automatically perform certain tasks on the tablet using Mods section.

How to Install and Use Nexus 7 Toolkit
Nexus 7 toolkit can be downloaded from the official development page of XDA. Start installation of the toolkit by double-clicking on it.
Follow the instructions as given in setup program and keep clicking Next to move further in installation process. Do not change the parameters as mentioned in the setup program including the installation path in the setup program.
When the installation is complete, launch the toolkit by clicking on the close button in installation window. A
Nexus 7 Toolkit
icon is now created on your desktop. Use this to launch the toolkit foor various functions such as rooting, installations, pushing
files, flashing images and creating backup and recovery options for apps on your Android device.
When the toolkit starts enter the main toolkit menu by typing no and pressing Enter.
To perform specific functions enter its corresponding number into the toolbox and hit Enter. The function now proceeds with on-screen instructions that must be followed to move further. For example if theserial number corresponding to installing apk(s) on the tablet is '5', then launch the toolkit, enter '5' and hit 'Enter.'
Nexus 7 toolkit is now installed on your Google Android tablet and ready for use.
