Firefox OS mobile phones cost 2012 & release date

Firefox OS mobile Phones: Most of the mobile phone that launched this year runs Android OS. Few months ago the word Firefox OS / Boot to Gecko (B2G) Project exposed in internet. I didn't care about it thinking that it was a rumor. Now I confirmed that there is Firefox OS and soon the mobile will run Firefox OS. This OS is like Android Operating system means it is a open source OS. HTC was the first mobile to run Android OS.

This Firefox OS is first discovered in Samsung Galaxy S 2 for OS demonstration conducted at Mobile World Congress 2012. Anyway the first official OS will be available in TCL Communication Technology and ZTE made mobile phones. Operators such as Deutsche Telekom, Etisalat, Smart, Sprint, Telecom Italia, Telefónica and Telenor were also interested to manufacture mobile using this OS. Developers suggested that current Android compatible smart phone can run Firefox OS. So in future mobile manufacturers like Samsung, HTC, Motorola, LG will have Firefox OS in future.

Firefox OS release date: Firefox OS running mobile phones will be in our hands in December 2012. No official announcement is made about launch date. This OS is in post production stage so soon there will be details about mobile phone running Firefox OS and its release date. Telefonica the partner of Mozilla Firefox OS developer made a statement that the first mobile running Mozilla OS will be launched in Brazil followed by USA, UK. So this mobile will reach India only on next year (I.e)2013.

The mobile phone will be priced in the range $100 to $200 in American Dollars. So it costs Rs.5,500 in India. I already mentioned that the first mobile will released in Brazil. This mobile will cost $100. This piece of information were published during the OS demo conducted at Mobile World Congress 2012. They pointed that Firefox OS costs less than Android OS. So you can get high end devices with low price with firefox OS.

Kernal and programming of Firefox OS: This is a open source means it have linux as its kernel. The whole OS is programmed using C++, Java and Web based programs like HTML 5. This OS will be similar to the Google's Chrome OS with some modification. This OS will run web based apps instead of common mobile application. We have tons of html apps in internet and this will run in this OS.

Hardware requirements: Many hardware manufacturers supported to this OS. Qualcomm gave the initial support to this OS. So this OS probably runs on Snapdragon processor. We understand that processor clocked with less than 1GHz will have ability to run this OS smoother. This eligibility makes us to understand that low end devices in future will be dominated by Firefox OS.

Application support: All the web based HTML 5 apps will run on this OS. You can easily get HTML 5 apps in Google Play and Apple store. Because most of the apps were created using HTML 5 coding in current strategy. Social networking given their hands to this OS that makes users convenient. The current generation apps were based on HTML 5 and so nothing to worry. You can get free apps for firefox OS like Android.
