Garmin nuvi 50LM is a 5 inch GPS navigation from the leaders in GPS technology. It has a 5 inch touchscreen with 480 X 272 resolutions and comes with a feature of Junction view. It has a micro SD slot for expandable memory.

This GPS system weighs around 177 grams. With a GPS loaded with such features it is expected to cost around 20,000 INR. But to my amaze it costs just 9,990 INR. It includes lifetime all India maps from Navteq, with lifetime free updates. There are no fancy 3-D buildings and no wall charger included in the box. You can use any mini USB charger to charge it at home. Many of the other expensive devices have features like Built-in Bluetooth, video input for reverse camera, photo, audio and video player and a text reader, some even include preloaded games. But with GPS devices just for navigation, these additional features are more often underused. The Unit dimension of the GPS is 14.0 cm X 8.6 cm X 1.8 cm .
Garmin has cut all the frivolous features to bring down the price so as it becomes affordable by the aam aadmi. Following the same philosophy Garmin also has introduced 40 LM with a 4.3 inch touch screen which is priced at 8450 INR. When you start up the GPS you see just a couple of two big icons-Where to and View Map and two other small icons for volume and settings. So, this is what makes it so simple.
You get directions in English in Indian accents, the regular American, British and Australian and even in Hindi. The rechargeable lithium ion battery supports for only 2 hours. If you want to use it extensively then you need to carry the charger with you.

Advantages of Garmin nuvi 50LM

The price tag is the most attractive about this GPS. It has large and responsive touch screen. It comes with lifetime free map upgrades.Now you can upgrade your GPS for whole life time. It is really easy to use and its simplicity adds to Why one should prefer Garmin GPS over others.

Disadvantages of Garmin nuvi 50LM

One of the dis advantages is its low screen resolution. In addition to that it has no wall charger in the box. So, you cannot charge your GPS in the plug of your home. There is no in built Bluetooth.

Is it worth buying Garmin nuvi 50LM?

I would personally say priced at 9,990 INR it's a great buy. The advantages of Garmin nuvi 50LM overtake the disadvantages.
