Since Aakash project got nationwide attention, millions of students and professionals booked the tablet through UbiSlate website. DataWind had no proper infrastructure to handle such a massive volume of booking. However, they allowed everyone to make the booking through the website and encouraged people to send the money. There are no statistics available on how much money DataWind received through this government initiated Aakash project and how many products they actually delivered.

First of all, it wouldn't be appropriate to say customer support for Aakash tablet since that is not sold anymore. Government had no proper planning to sell it other than depending on DataWind, which actually sold their UbiSlate retain version in the name of Aakash tablet. DataWind had published a telephone number but I myself made more than 50 attempts in last several months but they answered the call only once. All other times, either the number was busy or no one answered. It is very clear that they do not have the telephone systems, people and other infrastructure to support their product.

This is a toll free telephone number and will not work from many phones. I tried calling from my Airtel mobile and the response was "Sorry, your call cannot be processed.". However, I was able to place a call to the UbiSlate customer support from my BSNL landline, even though the call was never answered.

If you think email will always work when telephone lines are busy, you are wrong. Most of my emails to DataWind were bounced saying the mailbox is full. It appears that do not even clean up their mailbox and delete unwanted emails. I have seen messages in the website UbiSlate.com requesting people to be patient and wait for delivery of products but DataWind never met their commitment on delivery schedule.
My recent emails to DataWind was bounced saying quota is full. See the automated message I received:

If you like to try your luck, try sending an email to the sales team of DataWind. Here is the sales team email address for UbiSlate:

When I received the UbiSlate 7+ finally, it had a separate email address for customer support. I am yet to try that email address, so not sure how is it going to work. Here is the customer support email address:

DataWind provides an option to contact them online for any enquiries related to UbiSlate 7+ tablet computer. I tried it many times and never received any response. However, you can try contacting them directly through this url: http://www.ubislate.com/contactus.html
If you already made the payment for UbiSlate 7+ Android tablet but never received any response, I suggest you send a strong email mentioning you will be seeking legal assistance to recover your money. Also, ask for a refund since I personally feel the UbiSlate tablet is not worth the money.

Hundreds of people have already made the payments but never received the product and not even got any response to their enquiries. Here is a sample email you can send asking for details on your payment for the tablet PC:

This is final notice to you before we take legal action against you for cheating and online fraud.

It has been several months after the payment is made. The tablet is not delivered yet and you never responded to our email requests. We are unable to reach you through the phone numbers you have published.
We have contacted legal advisers and we are advised to send this final notice to you before we proceed with legal proceedings.
You are requested to respond to this notice within 7 business days. If we do not receive a response, we will consider this case as cheating and online fraud and will proceed with legal action.
