What could be more better than Microsoft announcing that Windows 8 will be available at a mere cost of 39.99$ for download? Not just that it has come with some good offers in an effort to popularize Windows 8 and make it People's software. Read to know more about the offer.

In an endeavour to popularise Windows 8 Microsoft announced on Monday 2nd July, 2012 that Windows 8 will be available to download from the net at a mere cost of 39.99 $. Yes, just pay 39.99$. This offer is valid only for a short duration referred to by Microsoft as the promotional period.

Case Study

Doing a bit of a case study on the up gradation cost that Microsoft has been following we get the following details:-
Upgrading from an older version of Windows to Windows 7 costs around 120$.
Upgrading from one version of Windows 7 to other advance version costs around 65$.

Why the slack in Price?

The probable reason for the slack in price which is a promotional offer is inspired by Apple who a few years back gave the same offer for upgrading of its iOS software and yes sure enough got a great response. Strategically, Microsoft is doing the same. Upgrading is always in the go but the cost factor sometimes acts as a bottleneck. Reducing the cost will be the factor for attracting quite a few people apart from the technocrats.
Further Windows is suppose to use the Metro App style which encompasses most of its app from Microsoft App. The cost reduction factor will be instrumental in popularising the demand for Windows 8.

What is the offer?

Windows 8 will be available at a cost of 39.99$ for a limited period of time. Further, during this whole period Windows 8 will be available in DVD's for a price of about 69.99$.

Any other Special offer?

Oh yes. Microsoft announces that users buying Windows 7 PC within the period of June 2, 2012 to Jan-31, 2013 will get a special offer of getting Windows 8 Pro Upgrade at a price of just 15$.
These offers definitely show the strategic planning and persistent effort of Microsoft to make Windows 8 a great success in the present Era.
