How to make Helical Spring in Pro E Software

This article is related to making of Helical Spring in Pro Engineering software. It includes simple procedure with few steps you have to follow. Before this practice you need to calculate dimensions required for Helical Spring.

STEP: 1 Creating Helical Sweep

Pick File, New, Enter part name as "Helical_spring", Select mmns_part_solid

Pick Insert, Helical Sweep, Protrusion,

Select Front plane as sketching plane, Done, Select Right plane as reference plane, Default Front Top Plane

STEP: 2 Creating Sketch

Make a sketch as shown in below Figure

Modify Mean Diameter and Free length as per calculation

Double Click on weak Dimensions then enter new value

Complete the Command

STEP: 3 Enter Pitch Value

Enter pitch value

Pitch :Pitch is defined as the distance from center to center of the wire in adjacent active coils.

Complete the command

STEP: 4 Creating Circle modified by Wire Diameter

Make the Circle with calculated wire Diameter

Modify the wire diameter

Complete the command

STEP: 5 Finish Command

Select preview form menu

Press OK to complete your practice

If you want to change any dimensions or modification after completions of practice click select dimensions which you want to modify then select define

After completing this procedure you will get Helical Spring as per your Calculated Dimensions

File, Save

Press OK
