How to edit comments in Facebook?

Previously when we post some comments in Facebook we only have the option of deleting it and reposting it again as a new comment. However we had the edit option but it was limited to a small time frame just for few seconds after we post a comment. Now Facebook has introduced a new feature which is editing your comments and unlike to previous times, now this feature is permanent and we can edit our comment to change any typo errors or other things for as many times as we want without any time frame.

Editing Facebook Comments:

Previously we used to have "X" symbol on the right side of all our comments and by clicking on it our comments get deleted. Now this option is replaced by edit icon, by clicking on it you will find two options as "Edit…" and "Delete…" one below the other as shown in the figure. Delete option is just same as in previous times where your comments get deleted once you click on delete button.

By clicking on edit option you can edit your comments which are posted months ago and add or delete some content for it for numerous times. This feature will be a great advantage to correct our typo errors or comments posted in error. If you have accidentally clicked on the edit icon and wish to not make any changes to your previous comments just click on the Esc key and your previous comment will be restored without and changes.

How to check the edit history of your Facebook Comments?

Just to prevent from spamming and other misleading information Facebook has also introduced another feature to check your previous edit history. We can see all the changes that we made to our comments in edit history.

When we make any changes to our comments by clicking on edit icon and after resubmitting the comment we find an option as Edited below the comment as shown in the figure. Just click on it and it will be directed to a separate window wherein we can see all the changes that we made to our previous comments one after the other. If we have edited our comment for 10 times it will show as 10 comments inside the "Edited" window each post showing the changes that we made from the previous post. So if at all you had made any false statement and don't think that you can get away by just clicking on edit button and changing the comment, Facebook can still track all your previous comments.

Conclusion:

This feature of editing our comments in Facebook will be of great advantage for people to correct their typo mistakes and more over Facebook has taken all the measures to prevent spamming by showing the edit history of all the changes that we made to our comments. So ideally for now this is a great change with no loop holes. However for now this feature has not yet been introduced in Facebook apps of smartphones but is most likely to be introduced in the near feature.
