Recently, Microsoft unveiled its Windows Phone 8. This next generation phone supports Full HD devices, quad core processors and much more. The article has some important facts &information that you should know about the Windows Phone 8.

1. The NFC (Near Field Connectivity)helps you to send and receive files at a faster pace. The Windows 8 phones support multi core processors and Micro SD cards.

2. The star-up screen has been redesigned. Windows Phone 8 allows the user to customize the start-up screen. You can add & re-size up to 24 live tiles easily.

3. The Windows Phone 8 would be launched somewhere in the second half of 2012. Unfortunately, users won't be able to upgrade Windows 7.5 to Windows 8.

4. Many new features are introduced in Windows Phone 8. There is a digital wallet where you can store all your credit and debit card details. The wallet when coupled with NFC,can be used for making payments. The software designed for Windows 8 desktop can be used in Windows 8 Phones.

5. Microsoft has partnered with five major phone manufacturers to sell and market the Windows 8 phones. Samsung, Huawei, ZTE, Nokia & HTC would make and sell these phones. Samsung & Nokia would sell the higher end Windows 8 phones while ZTE & Huawei would make the entry level phones. The higher end phones would have the Dual Core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor with clock speed of 1.7 GHz. The lower end phones may have lower grade processors with clock speed of 800 MHz to 1 GHz.

6. Third party apps can work seamlessly with this Operating System. Skype and other VoIP apps can be easily integrated.

7. Nokia is a close ally of Microsoft and has offered its expertise. The apps offered by Nokia include Nokia Drive, Nokia Maps, Nokia Music and Camera Extras. The enhancements include Sweep Panorama and Burst Shot. Games by Zynga are also included in Windows Phone 8.
