Panasonic's new Lumix DMC-ZS20

Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20
Panasonic has launched a 14 mega pixel camera, Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20 which will be available in the market for $350 from May 15 2012. The best parts that make the camera special are its features. It has got 20 X-optical-zoom lenses (24mm to 480mm). Moreover, Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20 is a pocket able camera with in-camera GPS with mapping features. With the excellent video options and charecteristics, the camera can shoot full 1080p video at 60 frames per second. Though Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20 digital camera has got many modern features, it is usable to all kinds of generation as it has got traditional camera buttons to access the in-built features of the camera in addition to the availability of touch screen feature. In addition to these features, the camera is equipped with modern application features like 3D still shooting, a high-speed video mode, continuous-shooting speeds with 10 fps at full 14-megapixel resolution and 60 fps at 2.5-megapixel resolution.
Hardware and design features of Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20 The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20 digital camera is 1.1 inches deep and 4.1 inches wide. The camera can fit in usual pockets and can fit in hand. It is fully rubberized and comfortable enough to shoot with one hand. Pressing the physical buttons for triggering the shutter release, adjusting the zoom controls, swiping through photos during playback, selecting a focus point, and accessing other in-camera features can be achieved through buttons or 3 – inch touch screen. But care has to be taken place while using the touch option for accessing the menu in deeper since the clarity will reduce; so it is advised to use the directional keys while using the menu in the deeper extent. The physical controls consist of mode dial, a shutter release, a zoom control, a video-record button, and an on/off toggle, all on the top of the camera. The indicator light on the top of the camera helps the user to know that GPS is running. There is also a stereo mic on the top of the camera. On the back to the left of the 3-inch touch screen there is a dual purpose button used for accessing exposure settings and the map interface. A round directional pad provides one touch access to many options like exposure compensation, flash controls, macro mode, and the self timer. There are two more buttons to adjust display settings and jump to an abbreviated Quick Menu of settings such as image resolution, ISO, white balance, and burst modes. Other than these, there is a playback/capture toggle switch. There is a well built door providing coverage to a Mini HDMI port and an A/V-out port. There is a tripod mount and a door to cover the battery port and SD/SDHC/SDXC card slot.
Modes of operation of Lumix DMC-ZS20 digital camera It is possible to focus on moving objects in in motion-tracking AF mode through the 3-inch touch screen of this digital camera. The focus points can be changed while shooting the video. It also includes a motion-controlled panorama mode which is a 3D mode used to create an .MPO-format still image. There are many high speed options to capture images / stills / videos with a highly equipped menu of creative control options with tilt-shift, vignette, and monochrome filters to the shots as soon as the user snap them.
