Sony Ericsson releases Xperia Play
Xperia play is well known as PlayStation phone,as it is a hand held game console smart phone. Although there are many smart phones released from all over the world, only very few have been manufactured exclusively for gaming. Xperia Play is a game pad-equipped slider phone with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. This is to be the first device that is manufactured as a part of PlayStation certified program with a slide out gamepad featuring controls. Xperia Play is manufactured and marketed by Sony Ericsson. It was first released on April 1, 2011.
Specifications and Features of Xperia Play
Sony Ericsson Xperia Play had got a massive and wide 4-inch touch screen display with LED-backlit LCD which is well suitable for HD gaming. Also the screen is multi-touch capacitive touch screen with high resolution of 854x480 pixels with pixel density of 245 ppi and supports about 16 million colors. Below the screen of Xperia play there are few hot keys namely: Back, Home, Menu and Search. These keys are cut extremely thin so that consumer don`t find difficulty to adjust with it. On the rear side of Xperia Play we can find two loud speakers and on bottom side there is a 3.5 mm audio jack and a mini USB port. Xperia Play has dimension with height of 4.7 inches, 2.4 inches width, 0.63 inches of thickness and weights about 175g.
Xperia Play resembling Xperia 10 and PSP Go
While viewing the front view of Xperia Play with the slider closed, it just resembles the famous Xperia 10 and when the slider is slid up, the lower part resembles the slider of most popular PSP Go. The slider of Xperia Play features a D-pad on the left most side, a set of PlayStation buttons on right most side, a pair of touch sensitive analog pads on the center. The analog pad has a handy indented dot at each of its center. There is also start and select buttons and two shoulder triggers(L&R) just like in the PSP Go located on the back of the device. Those who are familiar with PSP Go can feel the same familiarity in the Xperia Play.

Xperia Play features 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon II processor, a Adreno 205 GPU which supports a fantastic gaming graphics, a 5 Mega Pixel camera with a flash on the rear side and a VGA front camera resonating 640x480 and 0.3 MP.
Xperia Play has a 320MB RAM capacity and 512MB internal storage. Apart from these it also features micro SD slot for carrying micro SD memory cards which is expandable up to 32 GB. Just like other smartphones Xperia play also can connect to every connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth etc. Xperia Play shows sterling performance even in the field of browsing and networking. It also support Adobe Flash like most of the android smart phones do.
