HCL Launches MY EDU tablets for students and general masses
HCL technology is one of the two publicly listed companies of HCL enterprise which is very well known for the release of new tablets nowadays. HCL tablets are different and special compared to other tablets in terms of the 'application' as it provides application features in different fields. The recent launch of My EDU tablet with reasonable cost is the best example for its application based tablets.
Recently HCL launched three tablets. The price for the tablets starts from Rs7,999. The tablets are named as My EDU Tab U1, My Edu Tab K12 and My Edu Tab HE. My EDU Tab U1 is the cheapest of three. It is not used for any educational purposes instead is used for general masses. Other two tablets are used in particular for educational purposes. My Edu Tab K12 is used for the students of class 12th. The students of class after 12th can use the tablet Edu Tab HE. The users of My Edu Tab K12 can enjoy the educational contents and the applications as free for 1 year. HCL also offers three years of free education based applications and contents. Both the tablets contain the education related contents for students and the supporting and suitable softwares, applications preinstalled in it. The price for My Edu Tab K12 is Rs 11,499 and the price for My Edu Tab HE is Rs 9,999.
The specifications for all the three tablets are identical.

The tablets do not have access to Android market or Google Play Store. But users can download the applications using HCL Me App Store. HCL Me App provides more than 10,000 applications. Some of them are BookMyShow, Clear Trip, Hungama, Money Control etc. Moreover the above mentioned applications are pre installed in all three tablets.
HCL is well known for the release of highly qualified tablets featured with general and particular application at low and reasonable cost. From learning companion to the productivity, HCL has launched many tablets like HCL Me X1, HCL Me U1 in rapid growing Indian tablet market. Besides the launch of the MY EDU tablets, these are similar tablets released before. HCL Me X1 has the cost of Rs 10,990. HCL Me U1 has got Wi-Fi connectivity feature. But again these tablets do not have support for Android market. However Android Market could be separately installed if customers could get hold of the installer file for the same. But it becomes too complicated in terms of technical prospective for the HCL's new tablets. As per HCL notification, the tablets will be available for the institutions near Delhi and all over India from April 2012. Currently there are many tablets in Indian tablet market, some of them are Reliance's CDMA Tab (Our take), Beetel Magiq, Wishtel, iBerry, and governments own Aakash tablet. But HCL's MY EDU tablets stand separate from all these tablets. Because MY EDU tablets are the only tablets which can enable HCL to extend its offerings and hence its market up to college and school levels.
