Ubislate 7 vs Ubislate 7+ comparison with features and price is given here. This is an exclusive article showing the difference between Aakash Tablet (Ubislate 7) and Aakash Upgraded (Ubislate7+). Also know the difference between the name Aakash and Ubislate. This upgraded Aakash tablet Ubislate7+ is not available under Government subsidy price.

Aakash tablet is the world's cheapest tablet launched by HRD minister Kapil Silbal on 5th october 2011. This cheap tablet is manufactured by the UK based company Datawind and Indian based company QUAD electronic solution located at Hyderabad. All components are imported to QUAD Electronic solutions and they assemble the Aakash Tablet. Till now, Datawind has got 20 million bookings and the bookings for January and February are Sold out. At present, there is only a pre-booking option available and that is for March. Aakash Tablets are sold out and now you will get only Ubislate 7+ which is upgraded version of Aakash. Let me clear the confusion between Aakash and Ubislate7+. Aakash Tablet is the tablet given by the Indian Government after subsidy and Ubislate 7 is the tablet purchased through Datawind at retail price. At first, everyone got confused thinking that both Aakash and Ubislate 7 are same. And also I want to make clear the difference between Aakash 2 and Ubislate 7+. Ubislate 7+ is only upgraded version of Aakash with some changed specifications and Aakash 2 is the tablet designed and developed by IIT Rajasthan which will be manufactured by Datawind and other new companies which is going to be released in April 2012.

According to unknown source, Datawind is utilizing the name 'Aakash' for more sales. You can check the official site of Ubislate (www.ubislate.com) and AakashTablet (www.aakashtablet.com) where they revised the name Aakash as 'Ubislate 7' and Ubislate 7 as 'Ubislate 7+'. And here everyone got confused and started thinking Ubislate 7+ as Aakash 2. Well, Aakash 2 is not the present Ubislate 7+ . Aakash 2 will come with more specification, faster processor, upgraded OS, Front camera and many more. This Aakash 2 will be available from April 2012, which was announced clearly by HRD minister Kapil Silbal. You don't have to be surprised if Datawind changes Ubislate 7+ as Aakash 2 after its release. So before that, let me clear the difference between Aakash Ubislate 7 and Ubislate 7+.

Difference between Aakash Tab Ubislate 7 and Ubislate 7+

Check out the difference between Aakash Ubislate 7 and Ubislate 7 + to place your order for the Cheapest tablet. Ubislate 7+ is a multi functional device which works as a Tablet and also a Phone. Also there are some additional features added and specification upgraded in the Ubislate 7+ for better performance and user friendly.

Difference Between Aakash(Ubislate 7) and upgraded Aakash( Ubislate 7+)

Aakash Tab Operating System

Operating Sytem is a kind of system software which is said as the most important software in electronic device like Computer and smartphones. This Operating sytem handles the whole hardware in the device and provide services to all application softwares. In clear, A device without Opearting system is like a man without brain. The Operating sytem acts as a mediator between Application software and device hardware. Here, Ubislate 7 runs Android 2.2 Froyo which come under low OS and which is not upgradable. This OS cannot perform mulit-tasking and also you cannot play games. Also, you cannot download awesome apps available in the Android market. You can consider this as a useless OS.

Othe hand, Ubislate 7+ is upgraded with Android 2.3 GingerBread which is also used in some good smartphones. This Operating System is good and allow multi-tasking, apps and even games. Now you can download several awesome apps from Android Market and enjoy.

Aakash Tab Processor

Processor job is to perform basic logical, input and output operations in the system. Aakash Ubislate 7 is powered by ARM 11 Processor at 336 Mhz clock frequency which is just a half in the cheapest smartphone processor. It directly indicates that the tablet doesn't perform well at any cost. The device performance and speed completely depends on the Processor. If you see the cheapest smartphone's processor, it will have minimum 600 mHz Processor. But , here its only 336 mHz. Half of the processor will be occupied for running operating system, which is reason for Quick Heat up and slow performance and many other things.

Other Hand, Ubislate 7+ is powered by Cortex A8 at 700 Mhz clock frequency which is much better processor and equal to the smartphone processor. The performance of the Ubislate 7+ is simliar to the performance of a regional smartphone. In this, you don't much problems like screen hangs, heating up, etc.

Aakash Tab Battery

Aakash Ubislate 7 uses 2100 mAh battery which gives only 3 hours standby time. Well, 3 hours is just a standby time where you have no guarantee for at least 2 hours if you use Wi-FI. The battery is very poor where you cant even watch a complete movie.Other hand, Ubislate 7+ uses 3200 mAh battery which quite better than ubislate, but not great overall. The battery in Ubislate 7+ gives just an hour extra battery life compared to Ubislate 7 battery.

The company failed in providing a good battery for more back up time. 2-4 hours of batterylife is seriously useless where you cant even travel with your Tablet. When we compare this device in battery category , A cheap smartphone is much better than Ubislate 7+ where we get at least 10 hours of minimum standby time.

Aakash Tab Connectivity

We have to think twice to give at least 1 Star in ratings to Aakash Ubislate 7 in connectivity. You don't get Bluetooth , GPRS and phone in Ubislate 7. It has only Wi-FI functionality . Other hand, Ubislate 7 + is a much better device in connectivity as it offers, GPRS, Wi-FI, Phone and SIM facility . You can use Ubislate 7+ as phone and also Tablet. Its completly a multi-functional device.

Aakash Tab Camera

Aakash Ubislate 7 doesn't have camera nor a web-cam to have video chats with friends. Using a tablet without camera is like using a mobile with no network. Other hand, Ubislate 7+ comes with a front camera which can be used for Video chat and Video calls. Though, it doesn't have a rear camera for shootin videos and taking pictures, its little satisfactory segment to have at least a front camera for video calls.

Aakash Tab Memory

Both Aakash Ubislate 7 and Aakash Ubislate 7+ has 256 MB RAM and 2GB flash memory. You can expand memory through SD card up to 32 GB.

Aakash Tab Pricing

Aakash Ubslate 7 is priced Rs.2500/- on retail and Rs.1,200/- after subsidy by Indian Government for Students.
Aakash Ubislate 7+ is Price at RS.2,999/- through Datawind. This uprgraded version aakash called Ubislate 7+ is not available under subsidy. However, Government planned to provide Aakash 2 at the same price for students which will be available from April 2012.

Conclusion There are only few changes when compared to Aakash Ubislate 7 and Ubislate 7+. They are, Operating System , Processor and Battery. Also , there some aditonal features added to Ubislate 7+ like Phone & SIM functionality, GPRS and Built-In Web Cam. However, if you can wait till April, You will get a fully upraded Aakash Tablet called Aakash 2 .
