Processor
Aakash Tab is powere by 336 mHz Processor which is very low than any smartphone.This low processor cannot handle multi-tasking, heavy programs, games and many more. Half of the 336 Mhz processor would run Android OS, so we can assume that accessing Tab smoothly is really impossible.

Battery
Aakash Tab sports 2100 mAh battery which gives 3 hours standby time. Compared to other tablets or with smartphones, 3 hours battery life is very low. You cannot watch a complete movie at least. Well, HRD minister said this tab is specifically made for students for education purpose. Even if you think this Tab is useful for education, its not. A college or School lasts for at least 5 hours and battery lasts for only 3 hours. So, you need to take the adapter and charge for every 3 hours.

No Android Market
Aakash Tablet doesn't have Android market which is the main disadvantage for students and all other users who purchased it. Users can't access to all the awesome apps available in the android market. Aakash tablet consists limite apps that are useful only for education. With the lack of Anroid market, you can't experience a real tablet nor at least a smartphone experience.

Display
Akasha Tablet sports a resistive touch screen which is not a great touch display. This touch display is low than even a cheap touchphone. You cannot pich and zoom the pictures like other tablets or smartphones.

Bluetooth
Bluetooth is the major factor for any device and this Aakash Tab doesn't have one. You cannot share files , pictures, videos or anything with other device. It's so frustrating to have a device with no bluetooth. Well, if you compare with education purpose, bluetooth is a must factor for sharing files with your co-students.

Camera
There is no built-in camera in Aakash Tab. You cannot take pictures or shoot videos or have video chats with your friends. If you want to connect a camera, you should use USB port.

Quickly Heats up
As the tablet is made with low price components, the tab heats up quickly. This heat may damage the tab very soon and therefore, you have to order for new Tab.
