Well, this would be the most important news for all the people who have booked, pre-ordered the Aakash tablet online. There were many complaints and issues which were raised over this Aakash tablet within the short period of time from its release. So our Indian Government said that due many complaints which are raised against the quality of the World cheapest tablet, they have decided to launch the upgraded version of the device, Aakash-2 only by April of this year.

The Indian HRD Minister Mr. Kapil Sibal said that, "In order to cater to the huge demand, we need several manufacturers to manufacture Aakash. We are enhancing the specifications on the basis of feedback we have received from the first version of Aakash. So we want to make sure that the upgraded product caters to the need of the customers... We have involved ITI in order to upgrade it... We will be able to bring in Aakash-2 by April." Also he added that, "We believe in resolving issues rather than highlighting them."
The Aakash developer and manufacturer, Datawind has accepted the crept which was raised and they are focusing to rectify it. Also some ministry sources added that Mr. Sibal is going to meet and have a deep conversation with Datawind Officials and IIT-Rajasthan Director regarding the issues with Aakash tablet PC and how to resolve it.
Earlier we know that Mr.Sibal who launched the Aakash tablet, the world's cheapest tablet created the hype in the Indian Tablet market as it was costing only $35 which was around Rs 2,500 only. It even got the booking to go out of stock with just 14 days from its release. This Aakash tablet was developed for Indian students to increase the standard of education which would make them easy to learn. This was a project laid from the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) as part of the The National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technologies (NME-ICT).
Mr. Sibal said that, "When we launched the Aakash first version, we did not know the feedback... We distributed to several students in order to get the feedback. With that feedback, we are now enhancing the specifications."
The Indian Government who had committed themself with this project has told that they will have a long term until they fully supply the booked units of the Aakash tablet from Datawind through online. Regarding this Mr. Sibal said that, "As of now Datawind has delivered around 30,000 tablets and the rest 70,000 will also have the upgraded version of Aakash-II."
According to reports it was stated that the Aakash 2, the next upgraded version will be released and given to college students around India at no extra cost. Aakash-2 will be designed and upgraded with resolving all issues which claimed with Aakash Tablet and will have 3 times faster than the previous version and will have 50% extra battery life than Aakash Tablet PC. Also Mr.Kapil Sibal said that, "The advanced version is being prepared according to the feedback got from around 600 IIT and Engineering students."
So finally, our Indian Government has taken the responsibility for the issues and complaints which has risen on this Aakash tablet and now they have are planning to resolve it. They have clearly mentioned that they will work on these issues as stated and tested by IIT – Jhodpur and would give the customers the best. So in this regard, the Aakash – II will be released only in April and till that there will be no shipment of any Aakash Tablet until they solve the complaints.
