Yes, the Aakash tablet from Datawind which ws the most discussed topic in the technology market all over the world. And now there comes another tablet which would stand equal with Aakash tablet as a competitor is the One Laptop per Child's XO 3.0 tablet. This is the only tab lets which is just the same like Aakash tablet having a low-cost and low-power. The One Laptop per Child's XO 3.0 tablet is a rugged tablet which was purely designed for student.

The Consumer Electronics Show 2012 will feature this One Laptop per Child's XO 3.0 tablet to be showcased by the non-profit organization One Laptop per Child (OLPC) along with Marvell. They are said that they will demonstrate lively to the public and consumer about the One Laptop per Child's XO 3.0 tablet in CES 2012.

The Chief Technology Officer of OLPC Edward McNierney said that, "We're proud to introduce the XO 3.0 tablet, showcasing the design, durability and performance features that make it a natural successor for our current laptops, which have been distributed to more than 2.4 million children in 42 countries and in 25 languages."

Specifications of One Laptop per Child's XO 3.0


This XO 3.0 tablet is based and powered with Marvell's ARMADA PXA 618 processor which makes to be fast in use and also this tablet can run both Android and Linux operating systems. The One Laptop per Child's XO 3.0 device will comes with 8 inch LCD screen or Pixel Qi sunlight-readable displays with 1024x768 pixels of resolution. This tablet includes the Pixel Qi display because it consumes low power and has better visibility under bright ambient lights. The XO 3.0 is designed with green and white plastic color which comes like a rugged cover over the screen. Also this XO 3.0 tablet includes Avastar Wi-Fi which is the new advanced technology in the Wi-Fi market. The One Laptop per Child's XO 3.0 tablet main advantage is that it can be charged directly by solar energy as it has integrated solar panels within it. Also it can be charged by other hand cranks and alternative power sources which make it to be eco-friendly when compared with other tablets. And on internally talking about the hardware of this One Laptop per Child's XO 3.0 has 512 MB of DDR2 memory with 4GB of NAND flash storage. Then for the Wi-Fi it has a separate Avastar Wi-Fi SoC built-in with it.

The OLPC XO 3.0 tablet is expected to hit the market in the year 2012. But we are not sure when the delivery of the product will start as all the OLPC hardware is built to order. The price of this tablet will be around $100. But this tablet for $100 will not include the optional sunlight-readable Pixel Qi display as it would be additional if the buyers need it.
