World’s largest OLED TV by LG for CES 2012 (Consumer Exhibition Show)products line up has started. Electronics giant LG has some thing special; yes the world’s largest OELD TV to be displayed for the CES 2012 at Las Vegas. This 55- inch OELD TV would be the largest in the world till date. Just days remaining for the CES 2012, LG has come up with a big surprise; Yes, it's the 55-inch OELD TV which would be the largest in the world till date. This OELD TV is only 5 millimeter thick. LCD and LED screens would give way to the OLED technology backed TV's projected as future TV display. What makes OLED different is the capacity to generate light of its own.

The OLED (organic light-emitting diode) technology has been widely used in mobile phones, digital cameras, portable digital media players etc. Some of the merits of OLED technology are the low cost in production, light weight, comfortable viewing, more brightness and better power efficiency. Many mobile manufactures like Motorola, Samsung, HTC, LG and Sony had been using this technology in their cell phones. Nokia's N 85 and N86 featured AMOLED display. The same technology had been used in digital media players like Creative Zen V, Zune HD and Sony Walkman X series. Samsung is the top manufacturer of OELD which has a share of around 98% in the global AMOLED market.

Samsung
• 2005- Announced a 21 inch OELD TV
• 2008- Unveiled 31 inch OELD TV
• 2008 – Displayed 12.1 inch laptop with OELD concept
• 2008 – Unveiled 40-inch OELD TV

Sony
• 2004 – CLIE PEG – VZ90, first PDA with OELD screen
• 2006- Portable minidisc recorder featuring OELD screen
• 2007 – 11-inch and 27-inch OELD TV
• 2010- 24.5 inch OELD 3D TV
• 2011- PlayStation Vita features 5-inch OLED screen

LG Electronics
• 2010 – 15 inch OLED TV
• 2011 December 26 – World's largest 55 inch OELD TV displayed at CES 2012.

As in 2010 LG displayed their 15-inch OLED display coming at a price tag of $2,000. The company has not yet announced the price of their mammoth 55 –inch TV.
