Complete review of Aakash Tablet PC vs Apples iPad
We will have a comparative study of Apples iPad and the Indian Aakash Tablet PC Ubi Slate from Datawind.
Price
The most important part of the comparison will be price, not even to compare  ' align='left' style='padding:10px'>Aakash keep iPad far behind. In Indian market Aakash Ubi slate Tablet cost Rs 2999. It is also available at a subsidized price of Rs 1700 for students. Whereas apple iPad cost Rs 24,500 in Indian market, 8 times the price of the Indian tablet PC.
Operating System in Aakash Tablet vs Apple's iPad
Ubi slate is powered with Android 2.2 Froyo. Whereas I Pad is powered with the latest version apples Operating system iOS 4. The one feature that beat Apple's iOS is the Wi –Fi connectivity of the android Froyo. It can connect 8 devices simultaneously. There are so many features beat the android, even then apple IOS4 is not far ahead of Android 2.2 still it is comparable.
Display
iPad : 9.7 in IPS TFT active matrix - LED back light, 1024 x 768 Capacitive touch Screen
Ubi Slate : 7 inch display, Resolution: 800X48 resistive touch screen , but the capacitive touch screen gives good response than the resistive one
Processor and RAM
iPad: Processor Apple A4 with Processor Clock Speed 1 GHz ,and a RAM size of 1GB
Ubislate :366 MHz Processor and 256 MB RAM is a decent speed. It is said that  you can watch HD videos of 1080p.( Aakash 2 will be coming in 2012, with 1GB RAM and 800 MHz Processor)
Storage
There is nothing wrong to say about Storage. It comes with 2GB internal storage and up to 32 GB external storage. You can store tons of photos, music's, videos, apps, games, etc. Apple's iPad comes with a Flash Memory 16 GB, 32 GB and 64GB. The storage capacity of iPad is much high compared to Aakash.
Connectivity
You can connect to Internet via Wi-Fi. It doesn't have 3G features. It has 2 USB ports. You can insert 3G Data Card for browsing internet. You can connect up to 8 devices in the simultaneously. The limitation of iPad wi –fi connection is not possible. But there are option to resolve the connectivity problem in the iPad. Connectivity speed of Aakash lacks behind iPad. It has tried to compensate the problem with UniSurfer. UniSurfer is supposed to make Web Pages process faster.
Battery
Aakash Tablet Battery Life is pretty poor. It got only 3 hours battery life. Actually a low grade tab should have at lead 5 hour battery life. Aakash certainly lacks far behind in the case of iPad. Were the iPad got a battery life of more than 10 hours, you can't even watch a complete movie on Aakash tablet
What Else Aakash lacks
1. Camera, it is major drawback of Aakash, it is not having an inbuilt camera. It is the basic feature a tablet PC should have. Whereas iPad also lack same
2. Bluetooth: Another basic need of a tablet, not in Aakash . The reason is still unknown why the IIT brains left the Bluetooth out.
3. Motion sensor: There is no motion sensor in the Ubislate
4. FM Radio, too is missing from the Indian Tablet, there is loud speaker as well
5.GPS: GPS which helps you find exact location won't be a part of Ubislate
Aakash lacks behind other Tablets behind but the most important part is the price at which you get a tablet PC. At least by the price you can justify Aakash. If price is the constrain go for Aakash else go for iPad or latest version iPad 2.

I don't think Akash tablet can be compared with Apple Ipad because the ipad has lot of great features and specs and with a nice touch pad. But when comes to Akash tab its a cheap tab with resistive touch scree. Although the price of both the tabs are very different.
