Get a free Windows Phone from Microsoft India

Are you a gadget guru or Windows Phone enthusiast? Here is an exciting news for you. Microsoft announced the release of Windows Phone 7.5 version in India. Learn how to get a free Windows Phone from Microsoft India for application developers and bloggers.

Are you a Mobile application developer? Are you tired of developing Windows Phone apps on the emulators?

Here is a good news. Microsoft is offering free Windows Phones to the enthusiastic mobile app developers. There are many cool new Windows Phones devices on the shelves awaiting it's new owners. Here is the deal. Microsoft want to spread the news, create awareness on the cool features coming with Windows Phone 7.5 and attract app developers to Windows phone app development. Hundreds of free Windows Phones will be distributed to app developers in India to promote Windows Phone app development.

Get a free Windows Phone from Microsoft India Yesterday I attended the Mobile Developer Summit at the Microsoft campus. Many Windows Phone evangelists from Microsoft gave presentations on the new Windows Phone release. Some cool new Windows phones were showcased in the conference which was the center of attraction. They showed 2 new Windows phones from Nokia, which looked very pretty and promising. One of them was a pure white color phone, which look very elegant. It was light weight, slim and looked very attractive. The other one was a cool, blue color device which can catch the attention of anyone from far.

I wish Microsoft would give away one of those Nokia phones to the application developers. Microsoft is giving away hundreds of Windows phones for free, but I am not sure if they are going to the Nokia phones they demonstrated today at the conference.

How to get the free Windows Phone from Microsoft

Microsoft is giving away the free phones to create awareness about the new Windows Phone features and also to encourage developers to create cool Windows Phone apps. If you are a Windows phone app developer, it is pretty easy to get a free Windows phone from Microsoft.

Windows phone app developers in India can develop and submit 3 Windows phone apps and if the apps qualify, you can walk away with a free Windows phone. Obviously, Microsoft will have some filtering and you will not be able to submit some half cooked apps and run away with an expensive Windows phone.

If you are an app developer in a competing technology (like Apple iPhone or Android), it is relatively easier to grab a free Windows phone. All you have to do is, port any 2 of your existing mobile phone apps from the competing technology to Windows Phone app. Obviously, Microsoft is trying to attract Android and iPhone app developers to Windows Phone app development.

Are you a woman? Here is the best part of the free phone deal. Woman app developers can get a free Windows phone from Microsoft by developing just one qualifying Windows Phone app. I believe this is a limited offer available only to the first 100 women developers.

Free Windows Phone for bloggers

Are you a blogger and not an application developer? Don't worry, Microsoft has something in store for you as well. There are opportunities for bloggers to get free Windows Phones. All you have to do is, blog about the Windows Phones and encourage application developers to download Windows Phone SDK and develop Windows Phone apps. Microsoft will choose the bloggers based on the number of developers downloading the SDK by following your blog.

At the Mobile Developer Summit at Microsoft campus, we were told that Microsoft is coming with plans to give away free Windows phones to bloggers and MVPs. Exact plans are not known yet. They are working out plans to offer Windows phone to bloggers who can post several blogs and encourage others to download Windows Pone SDK and develop Windows Phone apps. Are you a blogger? Wait for further announcement from Microsoft on how you can get a free Windows Phone for bloggers.
