Initially, the feature will be rolled out for few people, gradually it will be available for all the Facebook users. As per Facebook, one can use the Subscribe button to:

1) Choose what you see from people in News Feed
2) Hear from people, even if you're not friends
3) Let people hear from you, even if you're not friends

With the help of Subscribe button, Facebook users can get

3) Important updates only: Just highlights, like a new job or move

One can also decide what types of updates their friends can see. Friends can also decide what they can subscribe for, for example one can only subscribe for photos from one friend, one can subscribe for all updates from other friend etc.

With the help of Subscribe button, one can also subscribe interesting people who are available in the Facebook. Just by clicking on the Subscribe button on their profile page, one can get their public updates right in their news feed.

If you are interested to share your public updates with your friends or others, you can get a subscribe button on your profile. For those who subscribed you, they will get your posts which are public. To get "Subscribe" page, one should visit the Facebook Subscription page and they should click on the "Subscribe" button. Once we allowed Subscribers, we can decide who can comment and what are the notifications one can get. After enabling the Subscribe option, we can see Subscribers tab in their profile page.
