In my previous article, I discussed about Internet Explorer 10 in Windows 8 operating system. Microsoft released the beta version of Internet Explorer 10 with Windows 8 operating system. In Windows 8, Internet Explorer 10 available in two options. One is the IE 10 App in Metro user interface, which is used for general browsing. You can't use flash in this IE browser. Microsoft concentrated on HTML5 version of Internet Explorer 10 in Metro user interface. The second one is the general desktop version which is available in both 32bit and 64 bit mode. By default, Internet Explorer 10 in Windows 8 is available in 32 bit mode only.
If you want to use the 64bit mode Internet Explorer 10, you can use it by enabling the 64 bit mode from the Internet Explorer options. Follow the steps mentioned below to enable the 64bit mode Internet Explorer.
Steps to be followed to enable 64 bit mode Internet Explorer 10 1) Open the desktop version of Internet Explorer 10. If you are in the Metro UI, click on the desktop App, you will be taken to Windows 8 desktop, Click on the IE icon which is pinned to the bar at the bottom of the screen.
2) Now, go to "Internet Options" from the Tools menu. On the left side of the screen, at the end there will be a "Gear" icon, click on that, at the bottom you can find Internet options.

3) Once you click on the "Internet Options", you will be taken to the "Internet Options" page.

4) In the Internet options page, under "Security tab" you can find two options, "Enable 64 bit mode" and "Enable protection mode".
5) Check the box which is "Enable 64 bit mode".
6) After enabling click "Ok". Now, the system will restarts.
7) Once the system is restarted, you can use Internet Explorer 10 in 64 bit mode in Windows 8 operating system.

Thank you for the response, that might have been hard to find, now any word on how it will interact with Windows 8 and the software.I found 64 bit IE a little diffucult to work with at times. Another question I have is about Windows Media Player. After all the effort to set up DVD's to play in WMP,under Vista and Win7, why under options in Windows 8 Media Player the DVD tag is removed. Is this to remain or is MS working on it for additions later?

Tried the settings and now I understand what is happening. I can't use the add-ons like for my printer because of zone setting. I for one would like to know more about zone settings in order to get full use of IE 10.
