Many people around the world downloaded and installed the latest Developers preview of Windows 8 OS. Some might installed it in the Virtual machine like "VMware Workstation 8". Some brave hearts, dual booted Windows 7 and Windows 8 operating systems.

Since the release of Windows 8 is not a beta release, it is advised to install Windows 8 OS on a virtual machine. As I said already, minority of the people might dual booted both the operating systems. Those who did that, they might started using Windows 8 as their primary OS. Windows 8 Developer preview can be used for general purpose like browsing the net etc. When compared to older operating system, Windows 8 has a new interface which is called as Metro interface.

Metro interface is the new innovation from Microsoft. Previously, they are using the Metro interface for Windows phones. If you are using Windows 8 OS and you want to access the files and folders which are present in Windows 7, there is a way to do it. Follow the steps mentioned below, to share files between Windows 7 and Windows 8 operating system.

Steps to follow to share files between Windows 7 and Windows 8

1) Go to Windows 8 user folder
"C:\Users\User Name"

2) In the above folder, you can find My Documents folder.

3) Right click on the My Documents folder and select properties and go to the Location tab.

4) Click on the "Move" button, and navigate to your Windows 7 drive.
"C:/Users/User Name/Documents". or select any folder which you want to get in Windows 8.

5) Click Ok and merge the files which you want to do.

6) After clicking on ok, all the files which are in Windows 7 will be in Windows 8

7) Like this, you can share and get any folder from Windows 7 operating system to your latest Windows 8 operating system
