How to Automatically "Logon" on your Windows 8 PC

Read this article to know the step by step procedure on how to automatically logon on your Windows 8 operating system. In this article, I will explain the procedure with detailed procedure and with screenshot.

From the past few days, I am busy in installing and configuring Windows 8 operating system in my VMware Workstation 8. After few attempts, I successfully installed Windows 8. The first screen which I saw after installing Windows 8 is the new Metro interface of Windows 8. Metro interface is the new concept from Microsoft. Microsoft used the Metro interface in Windows Phone 8.

Though the Metro interface looks cool, initially I faced few problems while accessing Apps in the Metro interface of Windows 8 OS. As I not installed VMare Tools on VMware Workstation 8, I am unable to use even a single App in Windows 8. The other problem which I am still facing is "How to close Apps in Windows 8", I am trying different ways to close Apps on Windows 8, but till now I am unable to do it.

Few problems like Shutdown button in Metro interface of Windows 8 is cleared by creating a Shortcut App for shutdown in the Metro interface of Windows 8. If you are the only one who is using the new Windows 8 developer preview, in your PC, you can use the Automatic Logon feature which is present in the Windows 8 OS to automatically login to your PC.

Follow the below mentioned steps to automatically login to your Windows 8 PC.

1) First, Click on the Windows button to get the Metro screen.

2) When you click on the Windows button, Metro screen will be displayed. In the Metro screen, type "netplwiz" and hit enter button.

3) When you press the enter button, a User Accounts screen will be displayed.

4) In the page, you can find the number of users who can login to the system.

5) Select the users who want to login automatically to the PC.

6) Uncheck the box which has "Users must enter username and password to use this computer".

7) Once you uncheck the box, click on the OK button.

8) Once you press the OK button, you will be asked to enter your password twice. One for entering the password and the other for conforming the password.

9) After entering the password, click on "Ok".

10) Now, you can Automatically login to your system, without entering password again and again.

To see the Automatic login feature, Restart your system. The Windows 8 Developer preview got few updates from the Microsoft. Below is the screen shot of updates which my Windows 8 Developer preview got from Microsoft.
