How to enable or disable Metro User Interface in Windows 8

We all know that Windows 8 Developer Preview was released last week and many users all over the world have downloaded it and installed it. Most of the users are not interested to use the new Metro User Interface of Windows 8 and are interested to use the old style Classic Start Menu of Windows 7. I feel that the new Metro User Interface is suitable for touched based PCs. There are some shortcomings of the new Metro User Interface like not able to close applications and not able to display more than two windows at the same time on the screen.

Yesterday I have covered a simple registry hack to disable the new Windows 8 Metro User Interface. Going to Registry every time to enable or disable Metro UI is dangerous unless you are an advanced user. There is a tool available for enabling and disabling Metro UI in Windows 8. The application name is Windows 8 Start Menu Toggle and it can be downloaded from Deviantart website. Use the following link to download the tool from Deviantart website and install it in your PC so that it is easy to enable or disable Metro UI in Windows 8.

If you are looking for more Windows 8 tweaker Apps, take a look at www.Windows8Tweaker.com and www.Windows8PowerToys.com.

So the Windows 8 Start Menu Toggle tool will enable or disable Metro UI in just one click. This will also toggle the Explorer Ribbon and Task Manager. This tool is very useful if you want the old style Classic Start Menu of Windows 7 in Windows 8.

You just have to download and install this tool. You need to launch this tool and click Use Metro Start Screen to toggle between the Metro UI and old style Windows 7 classic start menu.

This program when executed for the first time will trigger the installation of .NET frame work 3.5.1 from within the Operating System. When you run this program after installation, you get a single button interface. You either enable or disable Metro UI by clicking on the button. Here is a screen shot of the window of the application.
