How to Auto Login into Windows 8

Auto Login feature in Windows 8 bypasses the Windows Logon screen and loads the operating system directly on start up. This is very much useful for a single user to save time during initial login. This article explains the method to configure Windows 8 to Auto Login on start up.

How to Automatically login into Windows 8

Any Windows operating system normally starts with Windows Logon screen by default where you need to enter the user name and password to enter into the system. But if this login screen is bypassed and you enter into Windows directly, it would save some time. Automatic Log in for Windows 8 helps you to bypass the Windows Logon screen completely and loads the operating system directly. This is really helpful if the computer is used by a single person. Windows 8 is very much similar to Windows 7 as far as Auto login feature is concerned. In this article I will explain how to configure Windows 8 to automatically login bypassing the logon screen.

Start Windows 8 and log in to your account
Now you will be taken to the MetroUI start screen. Hit "WIN + R" or goto search from the new Start Menu. Type "netplwiz" in the search bar and hit Enter to open User Accounts screen.
Now you should uncheck "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" check box and click the OK button
Now you will get a prompt where you have to enter the password for the user name. Enter the password and password confirmation.
Windows 8 will save this password and you need not enter the password any more during login. So the next time your system starts or reboots, you will be directly logged into the system without any need to enter the password.

Please remember that if your computer is a multi-user system, that means multiple users are using it every day, then automatic login will create security issues to your system. Hope this article is useful.
