Are you looking for the old, classic control panel on Windows 8. In this post, I will discuss how to launch the old control panel on Windows 8 and get access to more system features.
Windows 8 is cool and Metro Start screen is much more intuitive. But well, there are times you may want to go back to the old, class Windows 7 control panel on Windows 8 for several reasons. One of the reasons many of us want to get back to the old control panel is, the new Metro control panel is still not fully developed. How to open classic control panel from Metro Start screen in Windows 8
In the Metro start screen, you will see a tile for "Control Panel". Click (or, Touch) it to launch the metro control panel.
Once the control panel is open, scroll down to the bottom and you will see the following control panel group:
More Settings on Metro Control Panel
Click on More Settings in the Metro control panel. Your Metro desktop will give way to the classic desktop and open the old style control panel. You can access all of the features of the old control panel from there.
How to open old control panel from command prompt in Windows 8
If you are a "command prompt guy", you can open control panel from the command prompt. You can
open the command prompt in Windows 8
in several ways, which are mentioned in another post.
To open the old control panel from the command prompt, type the following command in the command prompt:

How to open classic control panel from RUN dialog in Windows 8
You can open control panel from the RUN dialog in Windows 8 in the same manner you did in opening from command prompt. All you have to do is, open the RUN dialog and type the command
control
and press ENTER.
To open the RUN dialog in Windows 8, press the Windows key on your computer and then press R (Window Key + R).
