Microsoft revealed another new feature about Windows 8 operating system in their blog. As per rumors, Microsoft is going to release the beta version of Windows 8 within a short span of time. In the blog Building Windows 8, Steven, who is a product manager at Microsoft revealed Windows 8 Development Team and in the same post he mentioned about App Store development team for Windows 8 operating system. Yesterday, Microsoft stated that Windows 8 will have hardware support for USB 3.0 Devices .
Today, in the "Building Windows 8 blog" Alex Simons authored a post which gives detailed information on the improvements on Copy Jobs feature in Windows 8 operating system. As per telemetry data available to Microsoft, copying, moving, renaming and deleting are the mostly used features within Windows Explorer. Telemetry data is the data which is collected my Windows OS users who opted to provide anonymous data about product usage.
Microsoft wanted to improve these four features in Windows 8 operating system. All these four jobs (copying, moving, renaming and deleting)were collectively named as Copy Jobs. As per the telemetry data, all these copy jobs will take less than 10 seconds to complete where the larger jobs will take upto 2 minutes to complete. Telemetry data also conforms that 5.61% of copy jobs will fail to complete the job for different reasons which were ranging from network interruptions to users just cancelling the operation.
Microsoft, clearly wanted to improvise these features which provides users with high-volume copying, dealing with file name collisions and assuring the successful completion of the copy jobs. Many people who wants to copy huge data, they are depending on the third-party copy management tools like Teracopy, FastCopy, and CopyHandler. In Windows 8, Microsoft wants to focus on these Copy Jobs by providing more control, more insight on what's going on while copying, etc.
Microsoft fixed three goals in Windows 8 to improve the "Copy Jobs". They are
1) One place to manage all copy jobs: Create one unified experience for managing and monitoring ongoing copy operations.
2) Clear and concise: Remove distractions and give people the key information they need.
3) User in control: Put people in control of their copy operations.
Based on these goals, Microsoft made four major improvements to the copy experience.
In the Windows 8, users can review and control all the Explorer copy jobs which are executing in one combined User Interface. In Windows 8 all pending copy jobs will be presented in a single dialog which saves users from navigating through multiple floating dialogs. It has an ability to pause, resume and stop each copy operation which were currently running which gives users control over which copy copy jobs will complete first. Users can click on any of the source or destination folders while the copy operation is taking place and they can open up those folders.

In Windows 8, each copy job will shows the speed of data transfer, the transfer rate trend, and how much data is left to transfer which provides users a quick and easy way to assess what is going on for a particular job.

In the new Conflict Resolution dailog box, all the files from the source will be on the left and all the files in the target location with file name collisions will be on the right. If users want to know more about the conflicting files, they can hover over the thumbnail image to see the file path or they can double-click on it to open from there. In the new Windows 8 operating system, Microsoft removed many of the confirmation dialogs which were told as annoying or feel redundant by many users.

From the posts in the Building Windows 8 blog, we can conclude that Windows 8 will have
1) An App store 2) Will support USB 3.0 Hardware 3) Will have improved Copy Jobs feature in Windows Explorer .(Copying, moving, re-naming and deleting)
