In this article, I am going to describe about six tips one should do before installing Apple's Mac OS X Lion. It is the latest operating system released by Apple. One of the best selling operating system from Apple.

Apple's Mac OS X Lion released. You can get a copy of operating system through Mac App store. Before installing the Mac OS X Lion, you have to do few things. Below are the top six things one should do before installing the operating system.

Things to do before installing Mac OS X Lion

1) First thing you have to do is to check the system requirements. You have to check whether your system is compatible with Mac OS X Lion. You can check this by visiting App store. Go to the Apple menu > About the Mac to find out.

2) You will need:

Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, or Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon Processor
2GB of RAM
Mac OS X 10.6.6 or later (Snow Leopard), including the Mac App Store
4GB of storage for Lion.

3. You have to update your software. For this, go to the Apple menu > Software Update and download and install all the recommended software for your system.

4. One of the good things to do, before installing any operating system is to back up your old one. So, first back your old Mac before installing Lion.

5. Check your hard disk status. Check for any disk errors, bad sectors, etc. Delete all unwanted applications.

6. Before installing Mac OS X Lion, take backup of the OS. Once the operating system is installed through the App store, it will be automatically deleted. So, take a backup of the operating system first.

If you gone through all the above steps, Now you can install the brand new Mac OS X Lion in your system.
