Microsoft recently launched the preview of Internet Explorer 10. Internet Explorer 10 has several new features when compared to Internet Explorer 9. IE 10 supports some advanced technologies. These features are going to make IE 10 as one of the strong competitor in browser wars.

Recently, Microsoft made its second "platform preview" of Internet Explorer 10 to developers last night in a series of blogs and community alerts. Regarding Internet Explorer 10, Microsoft says that, IE 10 has support for site-ready HTML5 technologies and also improved performance through support for several new technologies. Internet Explorer 10 supports new features like CSS3 Positioned Floats, HTML5 Drag-drop, File Reader API, Media Query Listeners and initial support for HTML5 forms.

In Internet Explorer 10, Web application security have been improved using the same markup with support for HTML5 Sandbox and iframe isolation. Microsoft said that, "HTML5 application performance improves across the board, as well as the ability to deliver better performance with more efficient use of battery life with new technologies like Web Workers with Channel Messaging, Async script support, and others."

In one of the reviews section, Microsoft said that developers can try out new technologies and provide feedback without any confusion about which technologies are site-ready and which are not. This is a good approach from Microsoft.

One of the minor features in Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 is reduced operating system support. Internet Explorer 10 will only installs on Windows 7 operating system and its new upcoming operating systems, leaving Windows XP and Windows Vista users out in the cold.
