How to install Windows 7

In this article I am going to help you install windows 7 on your own. There are three ways of installing windows 7. This article discusses the three ways of installing Windows 7 briefly. You can follow this and install Windows 7.

There are 3 basic types of installation procedures. They are as follows:

1. Install on a brand new hard disk.

2. Erase the disk, format it, and then install

3. Install into a new directory/folder for dual-booting

If you intend to use either of the first two methods you should boot form a DVD.Almost all computers support booting from DVD. For this you have to change the drive boot order in the BIOS or CMOS. The Windows 7 DVD is bootable and should run the Setup program automatically. Installation takes 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the machine speed.

Windows 7 automatically applies the NTFS format to any disk partition on which it is installed during installation.

If you're installing into an empty partition and you can boot an operating system that is supported for the purpose of Setup (Windows XP or Vista), just boot up, insert the DVD and choose Install Now from
the resulting dialog box. Then you can follow the installation step-by-step procedure.

If Windows doesn't detect the DVD automatically, you must run the Setup program, setup.exe. The setup.exe application will be located in the Sources directory on the DVD. After the Setup routine starts, you can follow the installation procedure step by step.

If your computer has a blank hard disk or your current OS doesn't support, this process changes. You must launch the installation process from the Windows 7 DVD. Setup automatically runs if you boot from the DVD.
