"Ease of Access" features in Windows 7 operating system

In this article, I discussed about one of the best feature of Windows 7 operating system called "Ease of Access". It is mainly helpful for the visually impaired people. In this article, I mainly concentrated on how to activate and how to use the features.


Windows 7 contains several features that help people with different levels of physical impairment to use Windows. Ease of Access features to improve the display for the visually impaired, including everything from magnifying the text to using a narrator to read the onscreen text aloud.

Windows 7 has improved all of the accessibility features from past Windows versions. It improved the way users interact with the system. In Windows 7 the accessibility features are called "Ease of Access" .

To start them follow the below procedure.

Go to Start menu. Click All programs, Accessories, Ease of Access. "Ease of Access" features are available before login by clicking the Ease of Access icon on the bottom left of the screen.

You can get the Ease of Access center from control panel also. To do this go to Start menu, control panel, Ease of Access, Ease of Access center. You can manage Ease of Access settings and other common related settings there.

Ease of Access contains a wide variety of ways to help users with physical limitations. Select get recommendations to make your computer easier to use. When you select the link, it prompts Windows 7 to ask you a series of questions about your physical limitations.

By using Set of high contrast option, it eliminates most screen colors and creates a sharper contrast between screen elements, so that visually impaired people can see them more clearly.Start Magnifier is an another option used for the visually impaired, this option magnifies the mouse pointer's exact location. By using the Start Narrator it triggers a narrator, who reads aloud any on-screen text. You can also choose to have Windows describe what is happening in a video if the descriptions are available.

By using Start On-Screen Keyboard , it places a clickable keyboard along the screen's bottom, makes you type by pointing and clicking. Windows 7 can be optimized for Blindness or impaired vision. You can turn on visual alerts instead of sound notifications.
