"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" Error in IE8

In this article, I discussed about "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error in Windows operating system. Even though you have an working internet connection, you may get this type of error in Internet Explorer. Some websites will only work in IE, they are designed like that. In that case, to overcome this error, the procedure mentioned in the article will be useful.

Some times "Internet Explorer 8" in Windows 8 operating system will not load the web pages even though other installed browsers such as FireFox or Google Chrome are working fine.

When you try to connect to the Internet, you'll receive an error message like this, even though you have a working Internet connection:

"Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage"

Possible solutions for fixing this type of errors

Disable all add-ons in IE 8 and restart your computer. Once it reboots, check for network connectivity.

Go to Internet Options > Connections > Lan Settings and uncheck the "Automatically detect settings" check box.

Restart your computer and check for network connectivity.

Go to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Firewall > Allowed Programs and make sure "HomeGroup" is checked.

One of these three options should allow Interenet Explorer to connect to your network. If not, Firewall may be blocking the IE not to connect to Internet. Check the Firewall.
