Probable Cause for Error: One of the services that are used by Office Professional Plus for Office 365 is not running.

Resolution: We have to check the Office 365 components.

We have to check that the "Local Services Office Software Protection Platform" and Microsoft Office 2010 Subscription Agent are started and set to start automatically.

To do this we have to follow the procedure mentioned below.

Right-click the task bar and then click Start Task Manager. The Windows Task Manager dialog box appears. Click the Services tab of the Windows Task Manager dialog box.Click the Services button. Locate the "Local Services Office Software Protection Platform" and Microsoft Office 2010 Subscription Agent.

To verify the services are started and set to start automatically, select each service one at a time, right-click them and select Properties. If the services do not start, we may have to repair the Office installation.

Check the registry to verify that the registry value OfficeSubscriptionAgent is in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run. It should point to either:

On 64-bit Windows with 32-bit Office: %CommonProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft Shared\Office14\osaui.exe

On 32-bit Windows, or 64-bit Windows with 64-bit Office: %CommonProgramFiles%\Microsoft Shared\Office14\osaui.exe

Check the registry to ensure that the UserOperations value under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\OfficeSoftwareProtectionPlatform is set to "1."

Verify that the computer has the correct date, time and time zone set in Control Panel. If there are any misconfigurations, correct them and then restart the computer.
