Microsoft Office 365 General Error's and Resolution

These are the six general errors which were faced by maximum people when they are working with Office 365.

Error 1: You have a working internet connection, but the updates of Office 365 are not downloading.

Resolution: Office 365 desktop setup uses the Windows Installer service to download installation packages for installing updates. Office 365 desktop setup may fail to download future patches and updates, if the Automatically Detect Settings option is not selected in Internet Explorer settings.

To enable automatic setting detection

1.In your browser,(here, browser refers to Internet Explorer)click Tools and then click Internet options.
2.In the Internet Options dialog box, click the Connections tab, and then click LAN settings.
3.In the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings dialog box, select the Automatically detect settings check box, and then click OK.
If you continue to experience problems with updates not downloading, you may need to update your proxy server address.
To do this, in the Local Area Network (LAN) Settings dialog box, under Proxy server, select Use a proxy server for your LAN and then write in a valid proxy server address.

Error 2: Message displaying there is no compatible desktop program or operating system.
Resolution: If you receive an error message that says you are not running the correct version of a specific desktop application or Windows operating system, then you need to upgrade to the required version.

Error 3: Installation has been stopped before it could finish.

Resolution: If installation process has been stopped before it completes, only some of the required updates may be installed. In this case, it is recommend that you run Office 365 desktop setup again to finish installing any remaining updates that are required to connect to and use Office 365.
You can run Office 365 desktop setup from the Downloads page. To access the Downloads page, you have to follow any one of the following:

•Sign in to the Office 365 portal, navigate to your home page and then, at the end of step 1, set up your computer to work with Microsoft Office 365. Click Set up now.
•Click the Downloads link at the bottom of the Resources section on the right hand side of the page.

Error 4: During the installation,connection to the internet is lost

Resolution: If your computer loses connection to the Internet during the installation process, you can run Office 365 desktop setup again after you regain a connection.

Error 5: An update could not be installed because another required update failed

Resolution: Some of the updates are required prerequisites for other updates. If a prerequisite update fails to install, any dependent updates will also fail during the installation process. To fix this issue, you have to run the update and configuration tool again or you can install the remaining updates manually

Error 6: There is no enough space on your hard disk

Before Office 365 desktop setup installs the updates that you need, it checks to see if your hard disk has enough space to complete the installation process. If your hard disk does not have enough space, you must free some space before you can continue with the installation process.

If you are using Windows, you can run the Disk Cleanup tool. Disk Cleanup removes temporary files, empties the Recycle Bin and removes a variety of system files and other items that you no longer need. You can choose to delete some or all of the files.

To run the Disk Cleanup tool

•Click Start and then in the Search programs and files box, type cleanmgr and then press ENTER.
After you have created additional space on your hard disk, run Office 365 desktop setup again.
