Windows 8 holds the prestige of being the most awaited product among the computer users. A lot is being talked on the internet about this upcoming Giant version of Windows – Windows 8. Various websites have even succeded to gather leaked pictures of the looks of Windows 8. However so far as I am considered I will discuss in this resource the expected features in Windows 8 according to what I have read on the internet.
You might even be surprised by the fact that the name which the websites are using for the next version of Windows, Windows 8 is not even official at present. Microsoft had yet not declared any name for this upcoming version. Now lets come to the features of the upcoming version.
Here are the features expected to be present in Windows 8 according to various sources on the internet.
Cloud Synchronization in Windows 8
Cloud synchronization is something that is talked about a lot these days. Even Google is going after it and has expressed its plan to try in this field. At such it is believed that Windows 8 will come with this exciting feature of
This will ensure for Microsoft that they do not lag behind and capture the cloud market in its initial stages. Cloud Synchronization helps to synchronize data and files to a cloud system. This can be done on a Microsoft server on a third party server. This feature is going to be unique and successful as it is innovative feature.
Windows 8 on a USB drive
It is expected that there will be an option for Windows 8 users to carry their Windows 8 profile and settings with them on a USB device. This feature has been given different names by different sources like Windows 8 on USB drive and Windows 8 portable workspace. However it is also expected that in the coming Windows 8 this version will be availed only by enterprise license users.
All you need to carry Windows 8 profile and settings is a 16 GB pen drive. It will allow to copy Windows 8 installation to a USB drive. Then just plug the USB in any other computer and Windows 8 is ready to work. This is something really benefial as people will not have to carry systems with them for using them.
Ribbon UI in Windows 8
Ribbon UI is a part of Microsoft Office 2010. At such everyone is hoping that it will also be a part of the upcoming Windows 8. The leaked paictures of Ribbon Ui on the internet is creating a lot of buzz among the people and people are talking about whether this feature will be easy to use or not. However there had been no official remark from Microsoft in this regard.
The only problem with the introduction of Ribbon UI is that since people are used to the old interface they may find it hard to switch to this new interface. Lets see how things turn around. However in my opinion there will be definitely an option for users to try the old interface also in case they are not satisfied with this older interface. Thus in brief Ribbon UI feature is going to create a lot of buzz when Windows 8 is launched.
In-built PDF reader in Windows 8
You might feel annoyed when your system refuses to open a file when acrobat reader is not present in your system. This is the reason why most of the system users download acrobat reader first of all. However this is going to change with the launch of Windows 8. It is expected as per the sources on internet that Windows 8 will come with an inbuilt PDF reader.
As we know that Internet explorer is an essential part of Windows. On similar lines keeping in mind the importance of PDF files and their increasing use Microsoft had finally decided to launch in built PDF reader that comes with it for free. It has been named as Mordern reader. This will not only limit your headache of installing Acrobat reader but will also save your time. There will be features found in Acrobat Reader of course with different names like Zoom in and zoom out, jump to a page number etc. However there are rumours that there will not be an option to edit PDF files using this PDF reader.
Hard reset button in Windows 8
This is just like restore factory settings commonly found in mobiles . Using this feature you will be able to reset everything back to the original state. Thus this is really a very good feature. This will be a button, thus a hardware feature. All a user will have to do is to press this button. This button is expected to be at some safe place to prevent accidental use and thus removal of data.
This is really a very good feature. What people do is that they keep installing unwanted programs, later keep deleting them which consumes a lot of time. The hard reset button in Windows 8 is expected to prevent this inconvenience.
Facial detection in Windows 8
This feature has been called as My PC Knows Me by the Microsoft. The computer need to be present with Hardware sensors that will detect people using the computer and also recognise the face using various complex algorithms. This feature can also be enabled for login and thus will help you to prevent unwanted access to your computer.
You can even set it for multiple users enabling it to switch accounts between two different faces , I mean users. This feature is expected to bring revolution in the market and is one of the evidences of the advancement Microsoft has made.
3D support in Windows 8
It is expected that Windows 8 will support 3D. If this feature comes in real it will definetly make Windows 8 a big success. This is evident from the fact that 3D TVs are gaining a lot of popularity all over the world. It is still not clear that whether to view 3D display in Windows 8 computer whether 3D glasses or transmitters will be necessary or not as is required in 3D TVs. If Microsoft could eliminate the need of 3D glasses it will be an added advantage to this feature.
New browser in Windows 8
Microsoft had realized that Chrome can give it a very tough competition so far as the browser segment is concerned. Thus it is believed that it is coming up with a new browser called immersive browser in Windows 8. The new browser will have a lot of interesting new features just like chrome. It will have all the features like favaurite button, forward and backward button and much more.
History Vault feature in Windows 8
According to various source on the internet, Microsoft is going to launch this new feature called History Vault . It is inspired from the Time Machine feature in Mac OS. Using this feature you can create a backup for your files and later acces them providing date and time. There are rumours regarding the place where the files will be kept as backup. The possible options are internal hard drive, external storage devices or the cloud based storage. In my opinion we should leave the choice to Microsoft as they can do the best justice with this.
