In this article, I will explain to you steps of enabling the disabled registry editor. As we know that registry editor is important component of computer system because when any infected specious enter in the system then firstly they attack on the registry settings of the system and disable the registry editor of your system. Here are the steps to enable the disabled registry editor/ regedit.exe settings of system.
When any Spyware, Malware or Virus enter in the computer system then they infect the registry settings of the system by disabling the registry editor such that when you try to open registry editor then the system will prompt you with message" Registry editing has been disabled by your administrator". It is the critical area of system through which we manage the registry settings of the whole system. The worm which causes the disabling of registry editor is W32/Brontok-C and cannot allow user to run registry editor anymore. You can edit the registry settings to remove the policy that blocks the registry editor usage by using following steps-
• Firstly click on the start button-->Run-->type gpedit.msc on the run text box and press enter.
• After you press enter then Windows automation feature will redirect you to the new dialog box that consists of user configuration and computer configuration. Select user configuration option--> Administrative templates--->system.
• Once you clicked on the system option then on the right Windows, you are provided with many options out of which choose "Prevent access to registry editing tools option and then double click on the option to open its settings dialog box.
• After that either select not configured option or disabled option and then click on the OK button and again try to open registry editor by typing regedit.exe on the run box and finally restart the computer to save the modified settings you have made in the system.
