Information about Computer Virus
Everyday we face a new virus, that comes from various sources like, Compact Disk, Pen drive, Internet, etc. But, most of us do not know about viruses, so here I am giving some information about virus and how you can prevent it from going into your computer.

Today we are living in the age of information and technology. We are spending more time on computer and internet. They are becoming an important part of our lives and for some people they have become an important part. But the question is, is it safe for us to depend on computer and store and share our useful information on computer. Sometimes it is safe but sometimes it is not safe at all. It is because, on the one hand the development of computer science has benefited us, but on the other hand it is creating threats as viruses.
What is a Computer Virus?
Many people do not know much about computer virus. Computer virus is a program that is developed by experts in such a way that instead of helping us it harms our computers by destroying the data and information stored on it. It is designed in such a way that it can copy itself and spread in the computer. It is said that first computer virus was developed in the early 1970's named as 'Creeper'. Virus affects computer in different ways, like it corrupts the data, sometimes it deletes the data and even sometimes it transmits your computer's information stored data to another computer through internet connection without informing you and without your permission and sometime even you don't know about this.
There are various ways through which a virus can attack your computer. It can come through a compact disk, a pen drive, mobile's memory card and through internet. But, we can prevent the attack of virus from harming our computer by using some programs and if we use our computer carefully. If we use anti-virus programs threats of virus can be reduced or even removed.
Antivirus 
Everyday there are hundreds of viruses are generated. So, it is very important for us to use antivirus in order to secure our computer's data. Antivirus is also a program to work against virus. Antivirus software is developed in form of a code. It helps in reducing or removing the effect of virus. but, antivirus works best when it is updated regularly.
Everyday new viruses are coming, so it is important for an antivirus to keep updating. Some antivirus are required to be updated by the user, but some antivirus are automatically updated. In both conditions internet connection is necessary. New antivirus can be purchased online or from the computer shop nearby.
Different types of antivirus
There are various companies whose antivirus are available like McAfee, Quickheal, Avast, Avira, Nod32, Bitdefender, etc. As I have mentioned above these antivirus can be purchased online or from the computer shop. You can download trial version of antivirus which are freely available on internet.
Trial version is for limited period, some are for 15 days and some are for 30 days. Many people use only trial versions, but the fact it that, trial versions are not fully capable of securing our computer. So it is very important and recommended to use a purchased full and registered version of antivirus.
