Windows 8 is the latest operating system still under development. Lot of new features are being added to Windows 8 as per the rumors spread in internet. One such feature is "Portable Workspace". With this the enterprise customers can create copies of Windows 8 on USB storage device and run Windows 8 by just connecting it to a computer.
There are lot of rumors spread over the internet about various features that would be incorporated in the upcoming Windows 8 operating system. This
new feature in Windows 8
is called as "
Portable Workspace
". With this feature, you can create copies of Windows 8 and use an USB stick of at least 16 GB for running Windows 8 from USB stick.
So you can
run Windows 8 from a USB device
using the feature of Portable workspace. But you will need at least 16 GB of space in the USB storage device to
run Windows 8 from USB device
. This kind of feature if incorporated in Windows 8 would be really useful for booting a copy of Windows 8 quickly for diagnosing some problems.
You will need Windows 8 Enterprise Edition set up files and a USB storage device of 16 GB minimum to use this feature of Windows 8. This kind of feature in Windows 8 will make it easy for compatibility between documents and application feature differences. Microsoft seems to provide this feature only for Enterprise Edition customers only.
There is no clarity on how exactly this Portable workspace will work once it is created. The 16 GB minimum space required on USB device also indicates that it is the minimum Hard disk space required for Windows 8.
