This is probably first time in the history of Microsoft and Windows where technology watchers are so eagerly looking for details of a product that is not yet announced and not even named! I am talking about nothing but the so called "Windows 8", which is still cooking in the Microsoft kitchen!
Where to download Windows 8 beta
At this point, there is no source available for Windows 8 beta download. Microsoft has made no official announcements regarding the name or availability of next version of Windows, which will be called "Windows 8", according to various leaked Windows 8 documents.
Windows 8 beta download sites
Even though a quick search in internet will show you several sites offering Windows 8 beta downloads, it is not a good idea to download any files from those sites yet. At this point, if you see any site offering Windows 8 beta download, there are significant chances that it is malware or adware. Since there is no official offers from Microsoft, anything offered by third party Windows 8 sites can't be genuine downloads. Once there is official announcements from Microsoft, the best place to look for Windows 8 beta download is the Microsoft website itself.

Windows 8 - is it the official name?
Everyone calls it Windows 8, but not Microsoft! If you do a quick search in Google for the name "Windows 8", as of today, you will see 17,900,000 results! This is an amazing considering the fact that there is no product called Windows 8 exists today.
Obviously, Microsoft is working on the next version of Windows and they always will be. The Windows team in Microsoft has the project plans for next several releases of Windows, which are usually represented by code names within Microsoft teams. Windows 7 was released just 2 years ago and it is the most successfull version of Windows so far. But Microsoft can't sleep on the success. They are getting the new version ready and usually follow a 3 year release cycle.
Even though Microsoft have not officially announced the name of next operating system, several leaked documents show they internally call it "Windows 8". There is no guarantee that they will call it Windows 8 later, but most sources in the internet indicate that is what the official name going to be.
