How To Troubleshoot A Wireless Internet Connection
Wireless internet will allow you to browse the world without a physical connection to router. But some times it may not be working properly and you may get irritated. Here you can see "how to troubleshoot a wireless internet connection".
1. First of all restart the computer and then check network settings such as IP address and related information. Check the network cards by shutting them down one by one, you will be able to locate the malfunctioning one.
2. Next step is just move the host around the router, this will allow you to see if the signal is being disrupted due to distance from access points. To rectify this problem you can use a wireless repeater which will amplify the signals.
3. Also check up with the routers' functioning. Move around the antenna to see if better results are achieved. If the router has an internal antenna, attach the external antenna for better results. In addition you can attach WiFi-enabled antennae to laptops or computers to enhance signal strength.
4. Change Wi-Fi channel and monitor for better signal strength.
5. Make sure that your SSID is different from other networks nearby and also check if the correct drivers are installed.
6. Check the configuration of the encryption keys.
7. Change the location of the router and check the performance..
8. Refer user manual and check the different LED lights. Sometimes odd lighting patterns indicate a problem.
9. The best way to avoid problems is to make sure you buy top notch devices and configured properly.
