Therefore, it is pertinent to note that the customers must initially have a qualifying underlying genuine operating system license which should have purchased with accompanying Certificate of Authenticity or COA either from their Original Equipment Manufacturer or OEM / a System Builder or a retailer / seller, before installing software Volume License Agreement or VLA on their computers.

Always a Genuine Microsoft software comes in an edge-to-edge hologram disc alone.

You want to know what will be the color of the disc?

Initially during the beginning of 2003, the hologram portion of discs was appearing predominantly copper in color. A customer will receive an edge-to-edge hologram disc if he acquires the Microsoft Windows operating system software or other genuine Microsoft software with the purchase of the computer from a System Builder who is a small or medium-sized computer manufacturer who embeds the software in the system itself. A customer can check very well that whether or not his computer should have a disc just by looking at the Certificate of Authenticity or COA. If the Certificate of Authenticity or COA on the computer has the words "OEM Product" immediately below the program name, or if the number on the far right side of the Certificate of Authenticity or COA ends with the alphabet D, then the customer should receive an edge-to-edge hologram disc for the software from the computer manufacturer himself.

What if I did not receive an edge-to-edge hologram disc?

In this case,a customer has to look at his Certificate of Authenticity or COA. If the Certificate of Authenticity or COA on the computer has the words "OEM Product" immediately below the program name, or if the number on the far right side of the Certificate of Authenticity or COA ends with the alphabet D, then the customer should receive an edge-to-edge hologram disc for the software from the computer manufacturer himself If the Certificate of Authenticity or COA contains either of the above said features and he does not receive an edge-to-edge hologram disc, then click at the following link to know what steps you can take: http://www.microsoft.com/howtotell/content.aspx?displaylang=en&pg=what

If I pay money and buy a Windows computer and if we find the Windows in it is not original, then who is responsible/ Am I responsible for it? Since I already paid for it, I think the seller is responsible for it.
