This article explains what is new in Internet Explorer 9 Beta version which included new web technologies and more support to HTML5, CSS3. Internet Explorer 9 beta shows performance improvements than its previous versions


What is new in Internet Explorer 9 Beta


Microsoft released the new version of Internet Explorer 9 Beta and it is one of the most expected from Microsoft as Chrome and Mozilla released their recent version some time back. The Look and Feel of Internet Explorer 9 Beta improved a lot and it looks similar to Chrome and Mozilla browsers. Internet Explorer 9 Beta includes more support for the latest web technologies like HTML5, CSS3, Scalar Vector Graphics (SVG) and many more.

Performance of Internet Explorer 9 Beta has improved a lot compared to IE 8. Script performance in IE 9 is improved by using the new script engine Chakra; it complies and executes the code by taking advantage of the multiple CPU's.
Graphics and text rendering which will use less CPU power which can be handled by the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit).

New for Users


Internet Explorer 9 Beta can Pin the sites and you can launch directly from your Windows Desktop taskbar just like other Windows applications. Click the pin icon on the respective sites address bar and then drag it to the task bar and pin it. Once click of the Icon you can open the site directly from your taskbar.

Once the installation is over you are asked to the computer and once the restart is done you can use the Internet Explorer 9 beta.
Internet Explorer 9 beta shows the most frequently visited pages as a thumbnail view on each new tab which is similar to Google chrome. Click the favorites icon and it will show an arrow, on click of the arrow will Pin the favorites list with Internet Explorer. (Check the below image)

On click of the Address bar arrow it will show the list of web sites opened in each tab, Favorites and the Leading search engine like Google, Bing, and Yahoo can be searched from the address bar. Address bar can be used to enter a web site or you can used to search a text in your favorite search engine. (Check the below image)

Bugs or feedback can be send to Microsoft using the Feedback Window which is included in Internet Explorer 9 Beta

Text which is typed in the address bar can be reordered from Right to Left.

Place your mouse on the address bar of the Web site icon and drag it to your
desktop taskbar will Pin the web site and it can be opened like your favourite application. (Check the below image)

New Tools for Developers


In order to access the developer tools press F12 or click the Tools menu and then select F12 developer's tools.

A Console tab which is introduced in Internet Explorer 9 Beta is used to see the script errors, warnings and messages. Network tab is used to check the network traffic of HTTP and HTTPS requests and response and displays other information like cookies and cache data.

Enhanced support for the CSS3 includes CSS3 Background, media queries, values, selectors, new web fonts, opacity and many more features. Enhanced Document Object Model (DOM) support and Added support for HTML5 Video and audio, Canvas and improved parsing of HTML elements.

Developers can make use of the SiteMode API you can use the notifications, alerts, push information's without requiring a browser window.

Internet Explorer 9 Beta included more support for the basic shape elements for SVG specification. Basic shares that are supported in IE 9 beta are rectangle, circle, ellipse, line, polyline and polygon. SVG clipping, masking and coordinate system, transformation, Gradients elements like Liner and Radial Gradient, Patterns, Interactivity like mouse event and cursor events.

Internet Explorer 9 Beta includes Document Mode which is new and by default IE 9 open in Document mode rather than in standard mode which is the only mode enabled in previous versions. Document Mode handles the latest web technologies and standards with enhanced performance. In order to use the document in your web sites you require using a Meta tag in the header section of your web page.

Internet Explorer 9 Beta can't be installed in Windows XP or previous Operating system, because those operating systems will not support the graphics and performance which is included from Windows Vista. It can be installed only in Windows Vista and Windows 7.
