This article explains Windows Live Family Safety which is part of Windows Live essentials from Microsoft. Windows Live Family Safety will monitor the activities of the system while browsing in internet, Computer activities and many more.

Windows Live Family Safety is part of Windows Live essentials from Microsoft. Windows Live Family Safety will monitor the activities of the system while browsing in internet. You can monitor the activities of your system account users by using Family Safety.

Each user will have own account so that it is easier to monitor the account and individual users will have their own settings and you can the report for each account.

Web filtering will monitor the activities of your account and it will block the web sites which is not safe or which is not suitable to view the contents of the web site. You can make the settings for the individual accounts.

Reporting tool will record all the system activities. Reporting tool will record all the visited web sites or tried web sites, individual's who spent on the computer and programs that are used in the account will be recorded and it will show the report. You can check the activity on any machine with your Windows Live ID you can check the activity report at any time. You can view the blocked web sites or you can search between some specific dates you can see 3 tabs with Web Activity, Other Internet Activity and Computer Activity. From the computer activity you can check the activity of a Sessions, Programs, File downloads and Games.

Windows Live Family Safety will monitor Windows Live Spaces, Messenger, and Hotmail messenger activities and it will record the activities as a log. A built in content management will record the new contacts and who they are talking to.

Once the web site is blocked by the Family Safety settings, you can unblock the web sites either by doing an email request and then you can respond by login in to the Family Safety website with your Windows Live Id and then check the web site and then you can approve or Deny the request to one account or for all the accounts.

Microsoft has categorized more than 8000 web sites in the Child category and the user can search the web sites in that category instead of searching in whole internet.

Windows Live Family Safety is one of the free tools available from Microsoft which is a part of Microsoft Windows Live Essentials.

Windows Live Essentials can be installed only in Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008.
