How to disable delete confirmation dialog box while deleing a file in Windows 7

When we want to delete a file or a folder in Windows 7, it will automatically asks us whether we really want to delete the file or not by default. Some times we may want to delete a number of files without this confirmation dialog box. This article explains how to disable the delete confirmation dialog box in Windows 7.


How to disable delete confirmation dialog box in Windows 7


We all know that when ever you try to delete a file in Windows 7, Windows 7 will by default ask you "Are you sure you want to move this file to the Recycle Bin?". This is a safe method because some times we may delete a file which we really do not want to delete.

But some times we may need to clean up our system and delete a number of files and getting this kind of prompt every time will delay our work. So it will be very much annoying if we get the confirmation dialog every time we want to delete a file in Windows 7. But there is a solution for this. Let us see how we can disable the delete confirmation dialog box in Windows 7. Here is a sample delete confirmation dialog box when ever we try to delete a file in Windows 7.

Here is a way to disable this delete confirmation dialog box in Windows 7.
  • First you need to right-click on the Recycle Bin on your desktop and select 'Properties' in the dropdown menu. A screen shot is shown below.

  • Once you select 'Properties' from the drop down menu, you will see the Recycle Bin Properties Dialog. At the bottom you can see a check box labelled “Display delete confirmation dialog” as shown in the screen shot below. This is checked by default.

  • That is all. Now you will not get any confirmation dialog when ever you try to delete a file in Windows 7.


  • Now you will no longer be asked with a confirmation dialog box whether to delete the file or not.
